As I chat with many of our sponsors and community members about the race, they all have such great things to say about how well thought of the race is, and how much it is a rich part of our community’s history.

I’ve only been managing the event for 6 years. May Chapman, my predecessor did a great job for many year prior to me, and that is about all I knew about the history of the event, until I started poking around yesterday in response to an interview I had with Hometown News. ¬†Joanne (our president) informed me of the existence of a 25th Anniversary reflection on the history of Eerie Erie, and that filled in a lot of the blanks for me. And then I remembered this blog entry I did last year that described some of the course changes we made during my 6 year tenure.

If you are curious about how the race has gotten to where it is today, I hope the links above shed a little more light on the subject for you.
